Bucks Score 5 on Dukes

NEWTOWN, PA – Lady Centurions top Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland in women's soccer by the score of 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.

Bucks knew, in the mist of a losing streak, they needed a positive result in the game and got one in a big way scoring 5 goals. Kearra Yaffe (Feasterville-Trevose, PA/Philadelphia Academy Charter) opened up the scoring for the home team in the 23rd minute play sliding a shot in the corner. Fellow freshman, Jenna Gibson (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert Catholic) scored only seven minutes later to give the Centurions a 2-0 halftime lead. Bucks started quickly in the second half as it only took Jenna Dixon (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) two minutes (47th minute) to score. Yaffe added her second of the day and Maddie Doyle (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South) finished the goal scoring in the 59th minute. Alyssa Miller (Levittown, PA/Pennsbury) registered her second shutout of the season in net.

The win improves Bucks to 5-7 overall and 4-6 in the region.

RCSJ-Cumberland falls to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the region.

Next up the Lady Centurions host the Harrisburg Area Community College as part of a women's and men's double header on Saturday, September 24th at 12:00PM.
