Lady Centurions Defeat Dukes

NEWTOWN, Pa.- Bucks Women's Soccer team defeated the Dukes of Cumberland County College Tuesday, 3-2. A back and forth contest saw Cumberland's Kiana Arroyo strike first not nearly a minute in. The Dukes would hold the one goal advantage through the half. In the second half Bucks would answer back off a goal by Brooklynn Smith (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) unassisted. The goal would mark Smith's 18th on the season placing her third in the nation. Smith would make Dukes goalie Iamni Gaines work hard in net as she posted a team high 11 shots on the day. Freshman Haleigh Kaufmann (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) would score her first of the season at the 64th minute mark unassisted to break the tie. Cumberland would respond immediately with another goal by Arroyo. All even at two the Lady Centurions dug deep and Kaufmann found Antonia Press (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) for the game winner at the 82nd minute mark. Keeper Holly Bowser (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) recorded 12 saves in the victory. 

Cumberland falls to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the region. 

Bucks improves to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the region.
