Women's Soccer Suffers Tough Loss

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Lady Centurions carried a two goal lead into half only to lose a heartbreaker to Northampton Community College on Tuesday, 4-2.  

Forward Brooklynn Smith (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) scored first for Bucks taking the 1-0 advantage at the 18 minute mark. The goal marks Smith's 17th of the season and puts her in a tie for second in leading national goal scorers for DIII Women's Soccer. Seven minutes later Teresa Yeager (Levittown, PA/Bucks County Tech) would score unassisted to give the Lady Centurions the 2-0 lead at the half. 

In the second half Bucks continued to play strong defense but Northampton proved too much to handle as Mikayla Garzillo scored to chop the lead in half at the 59 minute mark. Spartan Forward Abigail Dempsey tied things up nearly ten minutes later off an assist from Garzillo. Dempsey then added the go ahead and game winning goals at the 81st and 88th minute respectively. 

Northampton improves to 6-0-1 overall. 

Bucks falls to 4-4 overall.
