Cougars Tamed by Lady Centurions

BLACKWOOD, NJ.- The Women's Soccer team traveled to Camden County College on Saturday. Looking to avenge a playoff loss to the Cougars from last season Freshman Jamie Apple (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) would score the first goal of the game at the 5 minute mark assisted by Brooklynn Smith (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy). A defensive struggle would pursue as neither team would find the net again in the first half. Up 1-0 to start the second half Bucks continued to play tough as Smith found herself on a breakaway which lead to an unassisted goal at the 60 minute mark. Smith's goal marked her 17th on the season breaking her record of 16 the previous year. She now holds multiple records in the Women's Soccer books at Bucks. Up 2-0 the Lady Centurions would shutdown the Cougars for the next thirty minutes and claim victory. Goalkeeper Holly Bowser (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) faced 12 shots and made all 12 saves marking her third shutout of the season. Final score Camden 0, Bucks 2.

Camden drops to 1-4 overall and 0-4 in the region.

Bucks improves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the region.

Up next the Lady Centurions host Northampton Community College on Tuesday, September 19th at 3:30 pm.
