Lady Centurions Fall in Season Opener

WEST WINDSOR, NJ.- The Women's Soccer team opened up the 2017 campaign on the road traveling to Mercer County Community College on Tuesday. Mercer a Division I Region XIX Semifinalist a season ago always proves to be a strong test for the Bucks Women's Soccer team. Sophomore Brooklynn Smith (Levittown,PA/Neshaminy) would score first putting Bucks up 1-0. Roughly two minutes later the Vikings would even things up when Freshman Taylor Mastropasqua would find the back of the net. Before the first half concluded Mastropasqua would again score off an assist from Jen Macario which would prove to be the game winner. The second half was played evenly as the Lady Centurions tried to even the match. Mercer's Mary McDermott would score the final goal for the Vikings off a corner kick with six minutes remaining in the contest. Final score Mercer 3, Bucks 1. 

Mercer improves to 1-0 overall. 

Bucks falls to 0-1 overall. 

The Lady Centurions return to action on Thursday August 31st as they travel to Lincroft, NJ to face the 2016 Region XIX Champion Jersey Blues of Brookdale Community College at 3:30 pm.
