NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Women's Volleyball team hosted EPAC rival Montgomery County Community College on Thursday.
The Lady Centurions would find themselves in a hole early falling to the Mustangs (19-25 and 20-25) respectively. A strong third and fourth set (25-16 and 25-19) would swing momentum back Bucks' way. Having the lead and making some separation in the fifth and deciding set would only end in heartbreak as a foul lead to a 14-14 tie and the eventual two point advantage gained by Montgomery. Final score Montgomery 3, Bucks 2.
Sophomores Krista Hiller (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) and Virsaviya Volosevich (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) would combine for 19 kills and 54 digs. Cara Coughlin (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood) would add 50 assists and 10 digs of her own as fellow Freshman MacKenzie Schatzan (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) had 10 kills and Jacqueline Schaeffer (Bensalem, PA/Archbishop Ryan) added 11 kills.
Montgomery improves to 7-3 overall, in the region and 7-1 in the conference.
Bucks falls to 6-3 overall, 5-3 in the region and 5-1 in the conference.
Next the Lady Centurions host Community College of Philadelphia and Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday, September 22nd in a tri-match set to begin at 11:00 am.
