Lady Centurions Handle Business

SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa.- The Women's Volleyball team traveled to Lehigh Carbon Community College on Saturday to compete in a conference tri-match with the Cougars and the Blue Jays of Manor College. 

Bucks would square off with Lehigh Carbon first and deliver a thrilling 5 set contest to establish some dominance in the Eastern PA Conference. Bucks would take set one (19-25) but drop the second in a close one (25-21). Set three would need extra scoring to determine a winner in which the Lady Centurions would capture (27-29). The fourth set saw the Cougars bounce back to force the deciding set (25-16). Bucks would come out of the gate red hot for the fifth set rallying (6-15). 

Freshman MacKenzie Schatzan (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) would rack up 11 kills and 3 digs as Jacqueline Schaeffer (Bensalem, PA/Archbishop Ryan) accumulated 10 kills. Sophomores Krista Hiller (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) finished with 5 kills and 12 digs and Virasaviya Volosevich (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) had 8 kills and 11 digs. 

The Lady Centurions would take on Manor College in their second match of the day. Bucks would make light work of the Blue Jays sweeping the contest in three sets (25-11, 25-21, 25-3). 

Freshman Greta Chavey (Hershey, PA/Hershey) would earn 13 service aces, 4 digs and 3 kills as Cara Coughlin (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood) would total 19 aces and 3 digs. 

Lehigh Carbon falls to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the region. 

Manor drops to 1-5 overall. 

Bucks improves to 6-3 overall, 5-3 in the region and 5-1 in the conference. 

Next the Lady Centurions return home to host Montgomery County Community College on Thursday, September 20th at 7:00 pm.
