Women's Soccer Tops Titans

Women's Soccer Tops Titans

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Women's soccer team defeated Division I opponent County College of Morris on Thursday.

The first half would be a back and forth contest as each team went goal for goal from the 26 minute mark as Samanatha Corrales netted the first goal of the game for the Titans off an assist from Heidi Krueger. Bucks would strike back with a goal of their own courtesy of Katie Crouthamel (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) unassisted at the 27th minute. All evened up Krueger again would find Corrales to put Morris on top 2-1. The Lady Centurions however would not go quietly into the half as newcomer Sydne Patchell (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) would tie things up at two scoring her second goal of the season unassisted.

After the break Bucks would expose the tired Titans scoring five unanswered goals beginning just three minutes into the half with a goal by freshman Masie Jericho (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks West) unassisted giving the 3-2 advantage to the home team. Crouthamel would assist Kailie Mitchell (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) as she fired in her third goal of the season. Later Sophomore Teresa Yeager (Levittown, PA/Bucks County Tech) would assist on Crouthamel's second goal of the game giving the Lady Centurions the three goal advantage with roughly 14 minutes remaining in the contest. Morris' Corrales would record her hatrick on a penalty kick putting the Titans within two but it would be for naught as Crouthamel would capture a hatrick of her own off a Jericho assist. Moments later Yeager would find the net unassisted putting the icing on the cake for Bucks. With the goal Yeager now has six on the season. Goal Keeper Briana Carsella (Langhorne, PA/Pennsbury) would have a huge game between the pipes recording six saves on nine shots faced.

Morris falls to 0-2 overall.

Bucks improves to 4-1 overall.

Up next the Lady Centurions host Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday, September 18th at 3:30 pm.
