Women's Soccer Victorious on Sophomore Day

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Lady Centurions had a strong defensive effort in their 3-0 win over rival Northampton Community College on Sophomore Day. 

The game was the backdrop to celebrating the soccer careers of sophomores Sara Huntley-Jones (Langhorne, PA), Jillian East (Levittown, PA/Harry Truman), Kailie Mitchell (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), Haleigh Kaufmann (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) and Teresa Yeager (Levittown, PA/Bucks County Tech). Once the game started, Bucks pressured the Spartans the from the beginning of the game as they put 21 shots on target but failed to break through to score until Masie Jericho (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks West) finally got the home team on the scoreboard with just 3 minutes remaining in the first half. Mitchell and freshman Katie Crouthamel (Quakertown) each added goal to put the game out of reach.

Final Score: Northampton 0, Bucks 3

Northampton falls to 5-7 overall and 2-6 in the region. 

Bucks improves to 11-2 overall, 8-2 in the region.

Up next the Lady Centurions travel to play Bergen Community College on Thursday, October 11th at 3:30 pm.
