Softball Ready for Spring

NEWTOWN, Pa.- Head Coach Todd Collier and the Bucks County Community College softball team are looking to take the next step this year.

The Centurions, who went 8-15 last season, including 1-11 in Region XIX, are only in their second season as a varsity sport after one season on the club level. They will also compete in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference for the first time this season.

"We have some real potential this year," stated third year head coach Collier "the incoming class has some real talent to go along with our returning veterans". Recruitment from the area high school will hopefully show our best roster to date. Pennsbury is well represented with pitcher Abigail Schrandt, short stop Taylor Bridganti and the versatile Melissa Klimowicz. Olivia Dees will join the team from St. Hubert Catholic to play for her sister, Sarah Dees, who will join the coaching staff after playing 2 seasons for the Centurions.

Bucks will return veterans, outfielder Nikki Naylor, versatile infielder Emily Collier, outfielder Adrianna Kappler and outfielder Emily Pyle.

"I'm really excited about this season," said sophomore Nikki Naylor, "everyone is so positive and ready to get started."

The Lady Centurions open up their season at home on April 2nd at 3:30PM against division 2, Rowan College at Burlington County.
