Haig Scores Four in Debut

Dunmore, Pa. - The Bucks men's soccer team opened their 2021 campaign in the USCAA with a 6-0 victory over Penn St.- Scranton on Tuesday afternoon at PS Scranton Field. 

Joseph Roller (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) opened the scoring for the Centurions with a solo goal just minutes in (8:10) the first half and then freshman Jaden Haig (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) took over. Haig put away added three goals in the span of 10 minutes with two assists coming from midfielder, Gabriel Meira (Telford, PA/Pennridge) and one from sophomore, Zachary Shefsky (Holland, PA/Council Rock South). The second half started like the first with Haig adding his fourth of the contest just minutes in (48:17). Vladyslav Bordia (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) closed the scoring with his first goal of the season, assisted by Luis Beletzuy (Morrisville, PA/Morrisville) to give Bucks the 6-0 victory.

Goalkeeper, Christopher Clark (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury) recorded 3 saves to earn his first victory and shutout of the season.

"We started out very quickly today and so I was very pleased with that," remarked Head Coach Justin Burroughs, "We still have areas we definitely need to work on but today was a good start to the season."

The win moves Bucks to 1-0-0 overall, while PSU-S falls to 0-2-0. 

The Centurions are back in action on Thursday when they travel to face nationally-ranked, Brookdale Community College, with kick-off scheduled for 3:30pm.
