Newtown, Pa. - The Bucks men's soccer team stopped their longest losing streak in 4 years while by defeating longtime rival, Manor College by a score of 2-1 in double overtime on Tuesday afternoon at Centurion Field.

Bucks controlled a lot of the play in the first half but Manor also had excellent chances as well ending in a stalemate 0-0 at halftime. The second half started and the visiting Blue Jays were on their heels when freshman, Blaine Zavala (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) poked the ball away from a defender leading to scramble in front of the net when Christopher Clark (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury) came out with it and fired a shot past the goalkeeper giving the Centurions a 1-0 lead. Manor was not done, as they increased their intensity and went in the all out attack. Some great saves by sophomore goalkeeper, Diego Bautista (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) kept the home team in front. With 8 minutes remaining, Manor equalized the game off a corner kick and regulation ended at 1-1. Both teams battled through the first overtime period deadlocked. Bucks started the second overtime on the attack, Clark hit the post on a shot which was ran down by freshman forward, Jaden Haig (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) who crossed it into a streaking Salim Salan (Bristol, PA/Harry Truman) who scored his first of the season and gave Bucks the victory in double overtime.

Sophomore goalkeeper, Luis Beletzuy (Morrisville, PA/Morrisville) got the win in goal playing both overtime periods.

"It was a hard fought game between evenly match opponents; it could have gone either way," remarked Head Coach Justin Burroughs, "I have to compliment both our (goal)keepers for doing a great job and was nice to have Chris (Clark) on the field again, he was everywhere today."

Clark started the first four games of the season playing goalkeeper.

The win improves Bucks to 2-3-0 overall, while Manor drops to 2-2-0 on the season.

The Centurions are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to face Montgomery County Community College, with kick-off scheduled for 3:30pm.
