Centurions Upset Roadrunners to Advance

SEWELL, NJ.- Bucks Men's Soccer came from behind to defeat Rowan College at Gloucester County on Wednesday, October 24th. The 5th seeded, Centurions avenged their earlier season loss to the Roadrunners.

The 4th seeded RCGC got on the scoreboard first midway through the first half. The 5th seeded Centurions game out with a fury to start the second half by scoring 3 goals. Freshman forward Salvatore Ficarotta (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) finished on a through ball from freshman midfielder Dylan Molina (Benslalem, PA/Bensalem) to tie the game. Adhm Aly (Trevose, PA/Bensalem) crossed the ball into the goalkeeper area  where forward Adjewoda Sanoumega (Philadelphia, PA/Creative & Performing) redirected the ball in for Bucks' second goal. Ficarotta added his second goal of the day to put Bucks up 3-1. RCGC managed to get one more goal but the Centurions played strong to hold them off with strong defensive efforts by Badr Fask (Bristol, PA/Harry Truman), Anthony Ritts (Newtown, PA/Council Rock South), Jonathan Rodgers (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and Alex Lagutin (Southampton, PA/Council Rock North). "I was so happy and proud for the guys, not just for avenging their loss, but for not giving up when we were down" commented head coach Justin Burroughs, "The guys played for each other even when they had to play out of position." Bucks leading scorer Chris Clark (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury) played forward, defensive midfield and outside defender during the game.

Final score RCGC 2, Bucks 3.

RCGC ends the season at 6-6-4 overall.

Bucks improves to 13-4 overall.

The Centurions will now play in the District G/Regional Championship against the number 1 seed, Camden County College (5th in nation) on Saturday, October 27th to be played at Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ.
