Men's Soccer Downs Hawks 8-1

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Centurion Men's Soccer team hosted the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday. Bucks got on the board first as Jonathan Sutcliffe (Central Bucks East) scored off an assist from Mohammed Abdul (Philadelphia, PA/Swenson) a little over ten minutes into the contest. Freshman John Nieminski (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) found the net minutes later with an assist credited to Sutcliffe. Up 2-0 Harrisburg's Cameron Sensenig would fight hard past Bucks defenders to score and put the Hawks right back into the game. Ilia Borisov (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington) would answer back for the Centurions  assisted by Lucas Pfendner (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks South) giving them the 3-1 advantage at half. The second half would be all Bucks County as Joseph Berry would score two back to back goals within ten minutes of each other assisted by Sada Kanneh (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) and unassisted respectively. Captain Derek Czerniak (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame) would add another; assisted by Abdul with his second. Jonathan Rodgers (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) would put the Centurions up 7-1 assisted by Borisov at the 72 minute mark of the game. The final goal would come off the foot of defender Shokhin Olimov (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington) unassisted. Kevin Buck (Bristol, PA/Bristol) and Matthew Ricketts (New Haven, CT/Wilbur Cross) would split netminder duties; first and second half respectively. Buck would make 3 saves on four shots faced and Ricketts would make 3 saves on 3 shots faced. Final score Bucks 8, Harrisburg 1. 

Harrisburg falls to 0-3 overall. 

Bucks improves to 4-3 overall, 3-2 in the region and 2-1 in the conference. 

Up next the Centurions travel to Northampton Community College on Tuesday, September 19th for a 3:30 pm kickoff.
