Centurions Score 8 in Win

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Centurions found the scoring touch as they defeated EPAC opponents Valley Forge Military College Thursday afternoon by a score of 8-0.

It took only 8 minutes for sophomore defender, Nikolai Tsekirov (George Washington) to get Bucks on the scoreboard from a pass from captain, Mark Jurewicz (Council Rock South). Valley Forge remained competitive battling the Centurions until the 36th minute of the first half when everything started to click for host as goals started coming. Sophomore forward, Daniel Merritt (Central Bucks South) led the team with 4 goals and is currently the nations leading scorer, freshman Derek Czerniak (Notre Dame) had 2 and Victor Molina (Bensalem) capped off the win by adding one more. Freshman, Tyler Andre (Palisades) led the team with 3 assists.

Bucks shutout was shared by sophomore Goalkeepers Josiah Gibboni (Calvary Christian) and Josiah Thompson (Calvary Christian). Thompson helped perserved the shutout by stopping a penalty kick with a few minutes remaining. It's the third straight shutout for the Centurions.

Valley Forge drops to 0-5 in the conference and 0-10 overall.

Bucks improves to 6-1 in the conference and 7-3 overall.

The Centurions next host Williamson Trade School on Saturday, September 24th with a 12:00 pm kickoff. It will be the first game of a double header with the women's team.
