Bucks County Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Farrad Mclaughlin as the next head coach of its men's basketball program. Mclaughlin brings over 8 years of collegiate coaching experience to Centurions Athletics.

"We are excited to have Coach Mclaughlin join the Centurion family," said Bucks County Community College Athletic Director, Matt Cipriano. "Coach McLaughlin brings with him his passion for coaching and his belief in ensuring our student-athletes are successful in the classroom as well as on the court.  His previous coaching experiences, demonstrated his  ability to help young men grow as student-athletes and assist them in meeting their basketball and academic goals, and that is what we are looking for at Bucks."

This will be Coach Mclaughlin's first collegiate head coach gig but he comes with plenty of experience in collegiate athletics as an assistant coach, four years at Cabrini University, where the team made the Division 3 NCAA tournament twice, won the CSAC conference championship in 2018, coached a National Player of the year Tyhiem Monroe as well as recruited all conference player Keith Blassengale.   Prior to Cabrini, coach spent four years learning and coaching at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where the team made the NCAA tournament and won PSAC West regular season 4 years, won 2 PSAC Championships with several all Americans and All conference players.  "Having a coach with familiarization with collegiate recruiting in our region and the local connections with high school and college coaches is a huge asset to our program and Coach Mclaughlin checks those boxes."

Coach is driven to lead and help young men achieve their dreams.  "I beat the odds of the streets of West Philadelphia. It is my passion to use the experience that I received over the years and use it to serve, mentor, and guide young men on the right path. Basketball has exposed me to many different environments and experiences and I want to be that same resource for young men." says Coach Mclaughlin.

Coach Mclaughlin has served as head coach in several youth programs such as the Belmont Charter High Head Varsity Coach and Philly Pride AAU 17u Head Coach 2021-2022 and when he is not coaching,  he likes to involve himself in youth camps and clinics, the most recent at Villanova, Rider, Syracuse, HoopGroup, WilmU, and Basketball Athletes of Tomorrow.

Coach Mcllaughlin is a West Philadelphia native who went to Sayre High School and played three years of varsity ball. After high school,  coach received his B.S in Sports Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and M.S. in Leadership from Cabrini University.   Coach currently teaches special education in Philadelphia and married to his fantastic wife Danielle.

Coach Mclaughlin is always recruiting.   Any prospective player interested in connecting with Coach should complete a Recruit Me Form to learn more about the program.
