Baseball: Bucks Wins ESAC Championship

Newtown, PA. Bucks Baseball defeated Central Penn College by a score of 14-5 to win the Eastern States Athletic Conference on May 5, 2022.

The top seeded Centurions defeated the Knights for the fifth time this season.  

Centurion Baseball hopes to earn a bid to the USCAA Small College World Series.  Bid announcments will take place on May, 8th.   

Game Notes:  

  • Josh McGee and Dalton Turner Drive Centurions To Conference Championship. 
  • Five runs batted in from Josh McGee and four from Dalton Turner helped lead The Centurions past Central Penn 14-5 on Thursday.  McGee drove in runs on a single in the third and a double in the sixth.
  • An early lead helped propel Bucks to victory.  Bucks scored on a single by Marc Garcia in the first inning, a single by Chris Furey in the first inning, a double by Dalton Turner in the second inning, and a triple by Garcia in the second inning.
  • Bucks pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning.  In the second Turner doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs and Garcia tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
  • The Centurions tallied five runs in the sixth inning, batters contributing to the big inning included McGee and Turner, who each had RBIs in the inning.
  • Ryan McLaughlin was on the pitcher's mound for The Centurions. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out seven. Drew Lapolice got the win, throwing 2 innings of relief.  Jorden Sesar and Andrew Kleppinger threw the last 3 innings to close out the inaugural ESAC Championship. 
  • Koller toed the rubber for Central Penn. Koller surrendered six runs on seven hits over two innings, striking out two.  Boyer and Zeeby entered the game as relief, throwing three and two-thirds innings and two and a third innings respectively.
  • Centurion hitters saw the ball well today, racking up 18 hits in the game.  McGee, Garcia, Cory DiMario, Furey, and Turner each collected multiple hits for Bucks.  Garcia and McGee each collected three hits.  
  • Dalton Turner and Josh McGee shared player of the game honors for their offensive performances.  
  • Central Penn had seven hits in the game.  Boyer and Zell each had multiple hits for central penn.
