Baseball: Hughes shuts out Raritan Valley

Branchburg Township, NJ: Jason Hughes had all the right stuff on Sunday for Bucks County Community College Centurions, allowing zero runs and besting Raritan Valley Community College by a score of 11-0.

The Centurions tallied five runs in the seventh inning. Cole Nehring, Jorden Sesar, Ken Brough, Ed Parry, and Josh Mcgee each drove in runs during the inning.

A single by #23 in the seventh inning was a positive for Raritan Valley Community College.

Hughes took the win for Bucks. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out eight.

#14 took the loss for Raritan Valley Community College. He surrendered five runs on six hits over four and a third innings, striking out seven.

Bucks tallied one home run on the day. Mcgee put one out in the fifth inning.

The offense collected 12 hits on the day. Chris Furey, Evan Matthews, Mcgee, and Felix Galarza each collected multiple hits for the Centurions. Furey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead  Bucks in hits.  

The Centurions are now 4-1.
