Centurions Fall to Nationally Ranked Spartans

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Centurions lost to Northampton Community College who is currently ranked 5th in the nation in an Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference game by a score of 15-5 on Tuesday.

Bucks opened up scoring in the first inning, when William Uphoff's (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) sac fly scored one run.

The Spartans took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. Northampton's Tommy Dunleavy singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Corey Stouffer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Northampton scored five runs in the sixth inning.

Mike Perreault was on the mound for the Spartnas. He went six innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out two.

Stephen Brady (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) was on the hill for the Centurions. He surrendered five runs on three hits over three innings, striking out two. John Capobianco (Penndel, PA/Neshaminy), Shawn Puskar (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), and Kenneth Brough (Bensalem, PA/Lincoln) each contributed in relief for Bucks.

Justin Ward (Levittown, PA/Pennsbury) went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Centurions in hits.

 

Northampton improves to 2-0 in the EPAC, 4-0 in Region XIX and 22-4 overall.

Bucks falls to 2-1 in the EPAC, 3-8 in Region XIX and 8-17 overall.

Up next the Centurions travel to play a doubleheader against Luzerne County Community College on Saturday, April 13th at 12:00 pm.
