Vikings Take Two from Centurions

NEWTOWN, Pa.- Bucks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 23-3 loss to Ocean in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday. 

Ocean got on the board in the second inning.The Vikings scored six runs in the fifth inning, driven in by singles by Mandle and Ohalloran, an error on a ball put in play by Lauria, and a double.

Stephen Brady (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) started the game for Bucks. He surrendered seven runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. John Capobianco (Penndel, PA/Neshaminy), Kevin Knapp (Sellersville, PA/Dock Mennonite Academy), Noah Andress (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic), and Kenneth Brough (Bensalem, PA/Lincoln) each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, one and one-third innings, one inning, and one inning respectively.

Noah Ruiz (Warminster, PA/Upper Dublin), Brough, Evan Matthews (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy), Harold Landman (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy), William Uphoff (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), Paul DePompeo (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy), and Andress all had one hit to lead the Centurions.

In game two Bucks fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 21-6 loss to the Vikings. Ocean scored on a double by Lauria, a sacrifice fly by Beyer, a double by Felgin, a single by Sullivan, a double by Bellone, and a single by Mandle in the first inning.

Despite the loss, the Centurions did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. 

Bucks scored four runs in the second inning. Big bats were led by Shawn Puskar (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), Justin Ward (Levittown, PA/Pennsbury), and Evan Matthews (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy), all knocking in runs in the inning.

Danial McNamee (Southampton, PA/William Tennent) was on the pitcher's mound for the Centurions. He surrendered 13 runs on 15 hits over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking zero. Reese Sterling (New Hope, PA/New Hope Solebury) and Matthews entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Ward, Harold Landman (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy), and Matthews each managed multiple hits for Bucks. Matthews, Landman, and Ward each managed two hits to lead the team. 

Ocean improves to 2-0 in the region and 11-2 overall. 

Bucks falls to 0-6 in the region and 2-14 overall. 

Up next the Centurions travel to Valley Forge Military College on Saturday, March 30th for a conference doubleheader at noon.
