Baseball Spring Trip Recap Day 3

KISSIMMEE, FL.- Nothing came easy for Bucks on Wednesday in their first game, as they fell 13-1 to Prince George's Community College. 

The Centurions fired up the offense in the first inning. A wild pitch allowed one run to score for Bucks.

The Owls pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. 

Reese Sterling (New Hope, PA/New Hope Solebury) was on the hill for the Centurions, lasting four innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out three. Shawn Puskar (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) and Kevin Knapp (Sellersville, PA/Dock Mennonite Academy) entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Noah Ruiz (Warminster, PA/Upper Dublin), Evan Matthews (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy), and Paul DePompeo (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) each collected one hit to lead Bucks.

 

In game two the Centurions took the lead late and defeated Albright College 14-11 on Wednesday. The game was tied at eight with Bucks batting in the bottom of the fifth when Paul DePompeo (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Justin Ward (Levittown, PA/Pennsbury) collected four hits in five at bats to help lead the Centurions to victory. Ward singled in the first, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

Bucks tallied five runs in the fourth inning, big bats were led by Ward, Evan Matthews (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy), and Noah Andress (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic), all driving in runs in the inning.

Harold Landman (Levittown, PA/Neshaminy) led things off on the pitcher's mound for the Centurions. He went five innings, allowing eight runs on five hits and striking out one.

Bucks collected 15 hits. Ward, Shawn Puskar (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), DePompeo, Landman, and Matthews each collected multiple hits. Ward led the team with four hits in five at bats.

Bucks improves to 2-12 overall. 

The Centurions return to action on Saturday, March 23rd as they travel to Bergen Community College for a noon doubleheader.
