The vision of the athletic program at Bucks County Community College is to provide a supportive learning environment that promotes the academic success, promotes sportsmanship of student-athletes and fosters a sense of community, and the development of student athlete competitive skills.
Centurion Athletics Mission Statement
Provide a comprehensive support program for all Bucks County Community College student-athletes that ensures an inclusive environment, a positive athletic experience, promotes student-athlete academic success, and provide opportunities that promote leadership and personal growth.
Goals:
The goals of Bucks County Community College athletic program include:
- Provide a supportive opportunity for every student-athlete to completing his/her associate degree or academic goals.
- Promote the institution in a positive manner through our staff and student-athletes.
- Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures of Bucks County Community College and USCAA, Eastern States Athletic Conference, and other relevant intercollegiate athletic associations.
- Direct student athletes in a manner that fosters academic and athletic success.
- Recruit and retain student-athletes.
- Foster and engage all student-athletes in leadership, citizenship, academic success strategies, and sportsmanship.
- Develop and enhance competitive athletic skills in all Bucks County Community College athletes.
- Compete annually at the highest level in the Eastern Stats Athletic Conference, USCAA, and nationally.
Objectives:
The objectives of Centurions Athletic Program include:
- Work collaboratively with student support services, academic support services, faculty and academic departments to meet the needs of student-athletes.
- Track and monitor student-athlete academic progress.
- Provide a positive a study environment conducive to learning and course assignment completion.
- Address academic challenges with early alert procedures and implement support and incentive programs that will assist student-athletes stay their academic path.
- Refer student-athletes to appropriate support services including but not limited to academic, mental health, financial, and basic needs.
- Create an environment conducive to the holistic development of each student- athlete.
