Women's Volleyball: Back and forth battle

TOMS RIVER, NJ: In a back and forth battle, the Centurions women's volleyball team fall short to the Vikings of Ocean County College 2-3.

It was the Vikings that took game one 23-25, in game two the Centurions rallied for a 25-22 set to tie the match up. The Centurions struggled in the third set only scoring 15 points. It was the Centurions in game four winning 25-21 to force a fifth set. Each point socred was a battle with each team giving their all but in the end it was the Vikings who outlasted to secure the victory 21-23.

The Centurions were able to put up some big numbers. Freshman OH Princess Snorweah (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) had her biggest match yet with 23 assists.  Ysabelle Minschwaner had a big day on offense with 16 kills and 15 digs on defense. Freshman MH/S Marina Gkika (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) also had a big day serving with 20 assists. Also contributing was freshman OH Katrikki Lennon (Levittown, PA/Pennsbury) with 13 kills. As a team, the Centurions had 50 kills, 44 assists, and 59 digs. The Vikings move to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the GSAC.

The Centurions travel to Harrisburg this Saturday, September 21 for a tri-match with the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College (9-0 overall and 4-0 in EPAC) and the Colonials of the Community College of Philadelphia (0-5 overall). First game at 12pm.

The Centurions are 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the EPAC.
