Centurions Tame Mustangs

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Bucks Men's Soccer bounced back after their first defeat with a solid win over EPAC opponent, Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday, September 17th by a score of 3-0.

It took just over 10 minutes for the Centurions break through to opening the scoring when sophomore Prince Boafo found a streaking Vincent Hosephros (Langhorne, PA/Neshainy) slid a shot by the Mustangs keeper for his fifth goal of the season. Bucks continued to put pressure on the hosts and six minutes later, sophomore, Christopher Clark (Morrisville/Pennsbury), stole the ball and scored on break away. The Centurions were ferocious in their attack as freshman, Dennis Lara (Bensalem,PA/School Lane Charter) was brought in the penalty box and Boafo converted the penalty kick for his first goal of the season. The second half the Centurions pushed forward but were unable to convert multiple chances on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper, Jorge Ramirez (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) tallied 4 saves for the shutout.

"We started out very aggressive defensively and set the tone for the game" stated Head Coach, Justin Burroughs, "We are getting better but still need to finish more of our opportunities on goal". Bucks outshot Montgomery 22 to 14 for the game.

With the win, Bucks improves to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

Montgomery falls to 2-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the conference.

Next up the Centurions host Valley Forge Military College on Thursday, September 19th at 3:30PM for a conference match up.
