Men's Soccer: Victorious in Season Opener

Newtown, PA: Centurions open season with victory over EPAC foe the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon Community College 3-0.

Centurions' sophomore forward Salvatore Ficarotta (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) started the scoring with a penalty kick at the 22:00 mark of the first half. Freshman forward Zachary Shefsky scored from an assist from Conor Brady in 39th minute. The final goal of the game was scored by Vincent Hosephros in the 2nd half fed from Edwin Teah. The Cougars become 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the EPAC.

Offensively, the Centurions were able to get off 11 shots on goal. The defense was able to hold the Cougars to only 3 shots on goal. Goalie Jorge Ramirez was able to fend of the 3 shots.

The Centurions are 1-0 overall and 1-0 in EPAC play. The Centurions will head to Edison, NJ Thursday, September 5 to play GSAC opponent the Colts of Middlesex County College at 3:30 PM. The Colts are 2-1 overall.
