Sophomores Put Stamp on Victory over Montgomery

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Men's soccer team hosted Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday. It also happened to be sophomore day at Bucks and it reflected in the scoring. Freshman Derek Czerniak got things started for the Centurions netting his 14th of the season, Daniel Merritt was credited with the assist. Joseph Essig would put Bucks up 2-0 with an unassisted goal at the seven minute mark. Sophomore Merritt would become an assist master as he fed Czerniak again for his second of the game near the midway point of the half. Merritt would find fellow sophomore Mark Jurewicz at the 28th minute whose goal gave the Centurions a 4-0 advantage. Merritt would add a goal of his own just before the half, it would be his 20th of the season placing him 5th in the nation in goals scored. The second half would be more of the same as Merritt poked one in at the 52 minute mark assisted by Sophomore Defender Sean Mott. Czerniak would finish things off just as he started them with an assist by Lucas Pfendner. Final score Centurions 8, Mustangs 0. This is the 4th shutout of the season for Bucks.

Montgomery finshes their season at 3-12-1 overall and 3-8-1 in the conference.
