Men's Basketball: Victorious in season opener

NEWTOWN, PA: The Centurions men's basketball team opened their season in a thriller at home by defeating the Vikings of Mercer County College 61-60.

Four Centurions found themselves in double digits. Freshman forward Kristopher Shields (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) led the Centurions with 16 points going 7-14 with 6 assists. Frosh forward Keith Howard (Feasterville, PA/Bensalem) added 15 points and 2 assists. Freshman guard Aaron Smith (Burlington, NJ/Burlington County Inst. Tech) and sophomore guard Patrick McCauley(Southampton, PA/William Tennent) provided 13 and 11 more points respectfully. Overall, the Centurions were 25-49 from the field. Defensively, the Centurions had 25 rebounds with Shields leading with 6.

The Centurions 1-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 19.

Up Next:

The Centurions will travel to Rowan College at Burlington County on Tuesday, November 12, 7PM. The Barons are currently 0-3.
