Slewion's 29 points Not Enough as Mustangs Charge Past Centurions

NEWTOWN, Pa.- The Men's Basketball team hosted Montgomery County Community College tuesday night. The Centurion Gymnasium was roaring with an attendance of 115 spectators as the team's took the court. The action did not disappoint as the Centurions got out to a hot start. "It is always interesting to see the team's after the semester change." stated Assistant Athletic Director Justin Burroughs who handles eligibility for Bucks. The Centurions for the second straight year have kept the entirety of their team eligible plus made some key additions. One of those additions Somah Slewion contributed in a big way scoring 29 points. Montgomery would take a 40-36 lead into the half. The second half would see another flurry of points and high paced action. Ultimately the Mustangs would pull ahead with some timely 3-pointers that made it difficult for the Centurions to mount the comeback. Kevin Raymond contributed 19 points and Drew Heller added 11 it just wasn't enough. Final score Mustangs 89, Centurions 83. 

Montgomery improves to 5-9 overall, 5-6 in the region and 5-4 in the conference. 

The Centurions fall to 2-10 overall, 2-9 in the region and 2-8 in the conference. 

Bucks will next host the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday January 14th at 3:00 pm in the Centurion Gymnasium. Last meeting the Centurions lost to the Hawks 69-62 in Harrisburg on November 5th.
