We are excited to announce the hiring of Heather Weindorfer-Izzi as our new women's basketball Head coach. A local basketball legend, Weindorfer-Izzi has found success both on the floor as a player and on the sidelines as a coach right here in the Philadelphia Region.
Weindorfer- Izzi has coached college and high school basketball for the Last 20 years at Bryn Athyn College, Gwynedd Mercy University, Lansdale Catholic High School, Central Bucks West High School and her alma Mater Lower Moreland High School. She also Coached her Fencor AAU team for 10 years and won 7 Mid-Atlantic Championships.
As a player, Weindorfer-Izzi is still the All -time leading scorer at the University of Hartford with (1780 Points). She was on the Conference All rookie Team 1993-94 and First team All conference 1995-96 and 1996-97. She still hold the single season scoring ave of 17.9 PPG, Free throws (568) and free throws attempted. She was among the America East/ North Atlantic Conferences most prominent players and ranks amongst the leaders in conference scoring.
In High School, at Lower Moreland, Weindorfer -Izzi shattered the scoring record with (2340 career Points) Most of any boy or girl who attended the high school and still holds that record today. She still ranks in the state of Pennsylvania history top 50 girls high school scorers list. Her high school team had a combined W /L record of 98-11 over the four seasons Weindorfer-Izzi was there and won 2 District championships and 4 league titles.
Weindorfer -Izzi is a basketball person through and through , who has experienced so much success as a player and a coach. Her name is synonymous with women's basketball in our region. She is someone our young women can look up to as a local product who has used her love for the game of basketball to do so much and impact so many. She Loves to Inspire others and help them to be successful on and off the court.
