Centurions have Comeback Win on Sophomore Day

NEWTOWN, Pa.- Bucks Men's Soccer celebrated the sophomore players with a come from behind victory over Ocean County College on Sunday, October 14th by a score of 2-1.

The Centurions honored their sophomore players Tristan Brown (Levittown, PA/Pennsbury), Quaadir Palmer (Trenton, NJ/Notre Dame), Ilhan Zivali (Bristol, PA/Harry Truman), John Nieminski (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem), Jonathan Rodgers (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and Mohammed Abdul (Philadelphia, PA/Swenson) before the game and thanked them for all of their contributions to the program as family and friends watched on.

The game itself was also exciting. Ocean would score in the 11th minute of the first half to put the vistors ahead. But only 17 minutes later, freshman Salvatore Ficarotta (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) would collect a pass by fellow freshman Roberto Montero (Bensalem, PA/Bensalmem) to tie the game. It wouldn't be unitl the 60th minute when the Montero to Ficarotta combination would connect for a second time to put Bucks ahead. Ocean would put forward to try and tie the game but the Centurions defense hold them off and gain the victory. "I'm happy we got the win today against a quality team" stated head coach Burroughs, "Our sophomores have really set a high standard for our program and I am extremely thankful for them."

Final score Ocean 1, Bucks 2.

Ocean drops to 7-9-1 overall and 6-6-1 in Region XIX.

Bucks improves to 11-4 overall and 9-4 in Region XIX. 

Up next the Centurions host EPAC foe, Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday, October 16th at 3:30 pm. A win or tie will clinch the EPAC championship for Bucks.
