Centurions Yasir Rowell Breaks Men's Basketball Scoring Record vs PSU Wilkes Barre

Newtown, Pa- As the fall semester comes to a close and students look forward to the holidays,  Guard, Yasir Rowell (1) received an early present by breaking a scoring record.    The freshman Guard, was on a mission Tuesday night (12-5-22) vs Penn State Wilkes Barre, scoring 46 points on 62% shooting, with 8 asst and 7 rebounds. Rowell beat the previous single game scoring record by 6 points held by William Davis.   

In addition, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has named Yasir Rowell as leading in scoring in all of USCAA Division II Men's Basketball.  Rowell is averaging 32 points on 55% Shooting.  First year Centurions Head Coach Farrad McLaughlin said, "I've had a chance to work with many high-level players over the past 13 years and his talent are right there at the tip of the list. I'm glad that Ryan Charity was able to bring him on board. He's a guy I want in my foxhole. Scholarships should be coming his way."   

"It wouldn't have happened without my teammates. I feel like I'm playing well but I'm more focused on my improvement and winning as a team. We must get back on the winning track. You learn a lot about yourself when things aren't going well. It's always good to be the underdog." says record holder, Yasir Rowell
